Mbappe scores first Champions League goal for Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe already knows what it's like to score in the Champions League in a Real Madrid shirt. It took him 45 minutes (plus 4 added time) and 21 seconds, the time it took him to score in the second half.

After a first half in which Stuttgart had the clearest chances, with up to 3 great saves by Courtois and a ball against the woodwork, the game ended with a 0-0 scoreline.

It took just 21 seconds for Real Madrid to put the first-half mess right. Tchouameni found Rodrygo with a long ball into space, with Mittlestadt failing to clear.

The Brazilian winger broke free from the right into the box and saw Mbappé arrive on his left with only Mbappé to beat and pass the ball to him, who only had to push the ball in.

It was Mbappe's first goal in a Real Madrid shirt and his 49th in the Champions League, one behind Thierry Henry, the competition's eighth all-time leading scorer.
