Mateta on United's radar as Amorim seeks attacking reinforcements

According to reports, Manchester United is considering acquiring Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta in the summer to strengthen their faltering attack.
The Red Devils are having a disappointing season, sitting 14th in the Premier League table, and are struggling to score goals as Hojlund and Zirkzee continue to underperform.
Manager Ruben Amorim is said to be desperate for attacking reinforcements after the club failed to sign a forward in January, leaving them heavily reliant on misfiring options.
According to reports, United scouts have been monitoring Mateta closely, attending his recent matches and providing glowing feedback on the French striker’s performances.
The 27-year-old has been in excellent form for Crystal Palace this season, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists across all competitions.
Described as "Ronaldo-like" by journalist Rory Smith, Mateta’s physicality and work rate make him an attractive option for Amorim’s system at Old Trafford.
Although Mateta could be set to land in Manchester for more than the £11m Palace paid in 2022, his contractual situation could allow United to negotiate a reasonable deal.
However, alternative targets such as Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen remain on the radar, although both present challenges due to Champions League aspirations and wage demands respectively.
