Martinelli eyes Champions League triumph despite setbacks in Arsenal's term

The Brazilian winger, who scored the decisive goal in their dramatic quarter-final victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, admitted he has faced a difficult campaign, marred by injuries, inconsistent form and playing out of his preferred position.
Despite these setbacks, Martinelli is determined to end the season on a high. Reflecting on his career-defining moment in Madrid, he called it "the biggest night of my career" but acknowledged that his season has not been without struggles.
"It hasn't been my best season at Arsenal," he said, citing the frustration of being asked to fill in on the right wing—a role he's not particularly fond of—during Bukayo Saka's absence.
Nevertheless, the 23-year-old remains focused on the team's remaining goals for the season, stressing the importance of pushing for both the Premier League and Champions League titles. "There's still a lot to play for, and we're not just aiming for draws," he stated. "We want to win every game we can and build momentum for the final stretch."
With only a month and a half left to play, Martinelli is hopeful that the victory over Real Madrid will serve as a confidence booster for the team, and he is committed to doing his part to help Arsenal secure the club's first European title in nearly two decades.
"A club like Arsenal should be competing for the biggest trophies," he added. "We're going for it."
