Marcel Sabitzer to swap Bayern Munich for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal with arch-rivals Bayern Munich for the signing of Marcel Sabitzer. The midfielder lacked space in the Allianz Arena's plans last season, so he went on loan to Manchester United, where he made 18 appearances, 11 of them starts, and scored three goals. He experienced moments of glory such as his brace against Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Interestingly, he also found the net several times in Thomas Tuchel's side first friendly match, which was against Rottach-Egern and ended in an 0-27 crushing victory. The former Red Devil scored five goals, although this does not mean he will be staying with the club, as according to 'Sky Sport's Florian Plettenberg, the deal to land him at Signal Iduna Park is 48 hours away at the latest.

His price will be 19 million euros, a figure lower than his market value of 23.7 million euros. Perhaps this is due to the clauses that the Allianz Arena side's board have agreed for his sale, which may increase the amount finally received to make the operation profitable. The player will sign until the summer of 2027, that is, for three seasons. He will be 32 years old at the end of his contract with BVB.

What is most striking about this transfer, pending confirmation, is that the two leading German football clubs have once again come to an agreement.
