Marc Cucurella reflects on goalscoring form at Chelsea

Marc Cucurella has been at his goalscoring best this season for Chelsea, scoring seven goals in all competitions under Enzo Maresca. The Spanish full-back has shown a remarkable ability to get into dangerous areas and contribute with goals, something rare in his professional career.
Cucurella has acknowledged that success lies not so much in specific finishing work as in reading the game and positioning. "I don’t work on finishing! It’s more about understanding the position, being in the right moment, and it’s true that this season I’ve scored a lot of goals."
The player has pointed out that confidence increases when you start scoring frequently, which has allowed him to feel more confident in the opponent's area. "When you score a few, you get the feeling that every time you’re in the box, you’ll score. It’s really good, and hopefully I can score more in the future."
"I think it’s more about being in the right place at the right time. Some of them are just about getting into the box, not thinking too much, or taking one touch. It’s about understanding the position and the base of the game," he concluded.
