Marc Casado refuses exit, vows to fight for place at Barcelona

The 20-year-old is determined to stay at the Camp Nou and prove his worth under Hansi Flick. According to Sport, Casado has refused to consider any offers and remains focused on earning a place in the first-team squad.
His stance contrasts with claims from La Vanguardia, which indicated that Barcelona had placed the midfielder on the market as part of ongoing efforts to balance their books.
The club continue to work behind the scenes to ensure all players are registered ahead of the new season. Speaking on Saturday, president Joan Laporta reassured fans that no sales would be necessary, with RAC1 echoing that view.
Casado had impressed Flick during the early stages of pre-season, particularly in the absence of Marc Bernal, who remains in recovery from a serious knee injury. However, Casado himself suffered a setback late last season, and the return of Frenkie de Jong – who reclaimed his place in midfield – has only increased competition in an already crowded area.
With Bernal set to be reintegrated gradually, and with the likes of Pedri, Gavi and Fermin Lopez all ahead in the pecking order, Casado had been viewed internally as a potential candidate to depart, either on loan or permanently.
Even so, the La Masia graduate is adamant he wants to stay and fight for his place. He believes there is still an opportunity to convince Flick that he can operate as the team's primary holding midfielder, particularly with Barcelona facing a demanding schedule across multiple competitions.
