Manchester United sent scouts to the Portugal friendly to watch Renato Sanches against Belgium on Tuesday night with the aim of signing him this summer.

It has been revealed that the Barclays Premier League club have opened talks with Benefica in January over the transfer of Sanches.

United sent scouts to Portugal to closely watch the 18-year-old midfielder on Tuesday night in the Portugal friendly against Belgium.

However, other clubs are also interested in signing Sanches this summer and they will have to be prepared to pay his buyout clause at Benefica of around £60m.
