Man Utd confident of securing Liam Delap ahead of Chelsea

Manchester United are optimistic of signing Liam Delap if they can win this season's UEFA Europa League in Bilbao against Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Both United and Chelsea are the leading Premier League clubs considering activating the striker's £30 million release clause, which is in place following Ipswich's relegation to the Championship.
Delap prefers to wait and see how the season ends before making a final decision on his future. Manchester United have already tabled a strong proposal and consider Delap their main target to strengthen their forward line.
The club has the financial resources to pursue both Delap and Matheus Cunha at the start of the summer transfer window, provided an agreement can be reached with both players.
In Chelsea's case, the striker is well known to Enzo Maresca and the club's scouting team, although the Blues are considering several alternatives to reinforce their attack.
