Man Utd announce legend Phil Jones' departure

The time has come to say goodbye. Phil Jones, who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2011 from Blackburn Rovers, will end his time at the Red Devils after 12 years of service to the British club.
The club announced on Friday the departure of the defender once the 30th of June arrives, at which point the 31-year-old will try to find a new team where he can continue his career.
Phil Jones has 27 caps for England and has made 229 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 6 goals and providing 7 assists. He last played an official match for the club in the 2021-22 season.
On 2nd May 2022, in the matchday 35 clash against Brentford. The defender came on in the 75th minute in place of Juan Mata. Since then, the player has been missing in action.
"The last two years have been very difficult. There is no denying that. There's no way to hide from that. My family has been absolutely crucial in keeping me on the right track. I missed playing football, it was what I wanted to do," he said.
