Man United's Hojlund admits disappointment after Ten Hag sacking

The Dane, admitting that Ten Hag influenced his move to Man United, landed at Old Trafford in August after a £72million deal was agreed with Atalanta in August 2023. But the 55-year-old was relieved from his duties as head coach in October after a dismal start to the season.
Ruben Amorim was brought in from Sporting Lisbon to replace the Dutchman in November. The Red Devils' struggles have continued despite the Portuguese's appointment, with United sitting 13th in the Premier League and yet to find consistency in the new playing style.
Man United's woes have reflected on Hojlund, who only ended his 21-game scoreless streak in Sunday's 3-0 win over Leicester. The 22-year-old insisted he had confidence in Amorim's project in the long run but admitted he was disappointed with Ten Hag's dismissal at first.
“I’m focused on the task with Ruben because that project is incredibly exciting, but Erik was of course one of the reasons why I moved to Manchester United,” he told the press, as reported by Danish newspaper 'Tipsbladet'.
“He was doing something good and was a talented coach, but it didn’t work out, and that’s how it is. I’m still very happy to be at Manchester United. It’s the club I’ve always dreamed of playing for. And I’m really happy for Ruben, he’s a cool character and a cool person."
