Mamardashvili's tearful Valencia goodbye ahead of Liverpool switch

Georgian international goalkeeper Mamardashvili bid farewell to the Valencia fans after playing his last home game at the Mestalla, writing on social media that he has always given his best.
"The time has come to say goodbye. Thanks to everyone who supported me during these 4 years. I think I left a little history in Valencia. And I wish that this club will always be where it deserves to be: in the elite. Amunt siempre," wrote the goalkeeper after the Valencia-Athletic game. "I don't know if I was the best, but I always gave my best," he added.
Mamardashvili signed for Liverpool last summer for around 35 million euros between fixed and variable payments on the condition that he would remain at Valencia, the club he joined in 2021.
"It has been a very special day, full of emotions. It's the end of a stage that began four years ago. I arrived as a young boy, without speaking Spanish, but with a big dream. In this time I lived difficult days of growth and also unforgettable moments", he said.
The footballer's name was chanted by Mestalla throughout the match and he was sent off with applause at the end. Mamardashvili also posted an emotional video on his social networks with some of his best saves during these four years in which he said: "They say that being a goalkeeper is different, when what is different is playing at Mestalla".
