Malaga extend winning run

The victory leaves Malaga sitting pretty at the top of the Spanish second division on 12 points from their four games to date, whilst they have also gone some 354 minutes without conceding.

Javier Ontiveros was a late addition to the Malaga team pre-match after Renato was injured in the warm-up, but he made the most of his chance as he slipped in Blanco Leschuk for the opener with 35 minutes gone.

The inch-pereft through ball left the number nine with only the goalkeeper to beat and he duly did so, finding the far corner.

That proved to be the only goal in what was a tight game, though Jose Naranjo really ought to have leveled the scores as he blazed over with the goal at his mercy in the second half.

Suso Santana also hit the post for the visitors, who felt aggrieved to be on the losing side at the final whistle.
