Madrid's Fran Garcia and Mendy dilemma - Who's packing his bags?

Real Madrid have found themselves with a problem with the arrival of Alvaro Carreras. Blessed problem many clubs would say, but one to be solved by Real Madrid. Right now they have an overbooking of left-backs.
Carreras will be, a priori, the starting full-back for Xabi Alonso in Real Madrid 2025-26. Behind him are Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy, two players with completely different profiles who will have to convince the Spanish international. For the moment, the former Rayo player is ahead because he has played in the Club World Cup.
Both have contracts until 2027 and, according to 'AS', neither has the slightest intention of leaving this summer. They are aware of the situation, but also of the opportunity that being at Real Madrid represents.
Having an attacking full-back like Alvaro Carreras would suggest that Real Madrid need a more defensive profile to blend in. Ferland Mendy fits into this scheme, a sure thing at the back under Carlo Ancelotti.
However, the big problem for the French full-back is the constant physical problems he has suffered in the last season. In fact, he has been injured on four occasions. This, in turn, makes him less attractive for a possible sale, as indicated by the source quoted above.
Under Carlo Ancelotti, the favourite for the starting line-up was Mendy, relegating Fran Garcia to the bench. But injuries to the Frenchman coupled with Real Madrid's change of scheme with Xabi Alonso have boosted the strengths of the former Rayo Vallecano man.
However, with the Spaniard, the fact that his style of play is more similar to Carreras' than Mendy's can be a problem on certain occasions.
