Madrid suffered an embarrassing defeat in their latest La Liga matchday. The Spanish side made the visit to Girona and Ancelotti's men couldn't do anything to stop the outstanding attacking might of Taty Castellanos, who scored all four of the home side's goals in their 4-2 win.
One of those to blame for the defeat was Lunin. According to 'The Athletic', the 'Merengue's coaching staff have lost faith in the Ukranian and are even doubting he will be staying in the coming years.
What's more, the source have reported that even the staff have seen that the goalkeeper is unwilling to learn new concepts and that he has a very closed character, preventing him from improving and threatening Courtois' spot.
You must remember that Lunin, who's in the Belgian's shadow, is under contract until 2024 and it doesn't look like he'll be staying after that date. The keeper, despite accepting his secondary role at the side, is coming to a standstill and could even leave this summer.
Having said that, a possible exit from Los Blancos would depend on the offer the club gets. Madrid know that if they are to let him go, they'll have to find a replacement who is of better quality to push Courtois.
