Madrid goalkeeper Kepa expected to be out until international break ends

Andriy Lunin will be back in the starting line-up for Real Madrid this weekend. The Ukrainian had to start the Champions League match against Sporting Braga and performed remarkably well. His team-mate Kepa Arrizabalaga, Carlo Ancelotti's first choice in goal, picked up an injury during the warm-up and more details of his injury emerged on Thursday morning.

According to various media outlets such as the newspaper 'Marca' and the 'COPE' channel, it is a problem in the right abductor that will keep him out for between 2 and 3 weeks. He is ruled out for La Liga game against Valencia, which is only a few days away, so his counterpart will be back in goal. Further tests are planned for the Spaniard soon in order to detect any anomalies in his condition.

The Chelsea loanee is expected to return after the international break, so he is also out of the Spanish squad. In any case, Luis de la Fuente has already secured qualification for next year's European Championship in Germany, so he could include less regular players in his expedition to face Cyprus and Georgia. The aim is to put in a good performance and secure top spot in the group.

Kepa would arrive just short of time to face Cadiz on 26th November in the domestic game and, with more options, for the Champions League clash with Napoli on 29th November. With a view to the home game against Granada on 2nd December, there should be more chances of seeing him back on the pitch, although, with the guarantees shown by Lunin against Braga, it is not out of the question that Ancelotti will take it easy on his return.
