Madrid are considering renewing Modric at Xabi Alonso's request

Real Madrid are considering renewing 39-year-old Croatian Modric's contract extension for the Club World Cup or extending for another season a player who this season has surpassed his record number of appearances for Los Blancos, 56, with fewer minutes by accepting a more secondary role.

"Everyone knows how much Madrid fans love Luka. They will have the time they need to make the right decision for the club and for him," said Ancelotti.
