Real Madrid has issued an official medical report on the injury suffered by Lucas Vazquez in the last match against Barcelona. The Galician player had to leave the field after feeling discomfort in his left leg during the Clasico de La Liga.
“Following tests carried out today on Lucas Vazquez by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the pectineus muscle in his left thigh. His recovery will be monitored,” the club statement said.
This injury comes at a delicate time of the season where the team is facing many defensive losses and the final matches of the Spanish league are approaching. Carlo Ancelotti's coaching staff will be monitoring the player's progress in the coming days to determine the estimated time out.
Lucas Vazquez has been an important part of the team's rotation, providing versatility in both defense and attack in an injury-plagued Los Blancos defense, so he is expected to be back soon for the Club World Cup in June.
