Liverpool verbally agree €150m deal in principle for Florian Wirtz

Over the last few months, the future of Florian Wirtz has been one of the hot topics in German football news. Bayern Munich's name was on the table, there were also rumours about his possible move to Real Madrid alongside Xabi Alonso, but in the end, the all-powerful Premier League is set to win the race.
And if things do not change drastically in the next few hours, the Bayer Leverkusen star will pack his bags and head to Anfield to join Liverpool.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds and the German side have already reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Wirtz, who will become the star reinforcement of the English team this summer for a dizzying figure of 150 million euros.
Liverpool, according to the German press, had recently offered 135 million, but Bayer Leverkusen were asking for 150. In the end, it seems that the Merseyside side have ended up giving in to the Germans' demands, agreeing to sign the player for that amount, which includes various variables.
If everything goes according to schedule, Wirtz will pass the medical in the coming days to join the Reds project in which he will join Jeremie Frimpong, until now his teammate at the BayArena and who has also headed to Anfield.
When the deal goes through, the German will immediately become the most expensive signing in the history of the Premier League, surpassing the 121 paid by Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez and the 116 (which with variables can still soar to 133) that the Blues paid for Moises Caicedo.
