'Liverpool could beat PSG'

Coverage of the European heavyweight clash between PSG and Real Madrid has been rising exponentially, with the first leg set to be battled out at the Bernabeu on Wednesday. However, despite not being directly involved in the match, the 'Reds' head coach has still come out with a bold statement.
Speaking ahead of their Round of 16 first leg with Porto, Klopp reflected on his team's chances: "Probably the strongest team in Europe at the minute is Manchester City. We've played them twice and that's the highest level".
"PSG is a little bit different but I don't look at them I only know it already that if we meet them we could beat them. That's how it is but it's not important. We are here in Porto and that's the only thing that matters".
Turning his attention to their Portuguese opponent, Klopp described the tie as "quite a hurdle" which will have a "special atmosphere", concluding: "It's a difficult job to do for both teams. Porto are really strong, very experienced, very aggressive, very physical, but we are good as well so it will be an interesting game".
It is the first time the Merseyside club has appeared in the knockout stages of the Champions League since the 2008-09 season, although they have no excuse not to go far this year after spending €168m on squad additions.
