Liverpool consider Frimpong as potential Alexander-Arnold replacement

Liverpool are exploring the possibility of signing Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong as a contingency plan should Trent Alexander-Arnold depart for Real Madrid. The 23-year-old Dutch defender has impressed in the Bundesliga, attracting attention from several top European clubs. 

Frimpong's attacking prowess was particularly evident last season, when he contributed 14 goals and 12 assists in Leverkusen's double-winning campaign. Liverpool's interest comes as Alexander-Arnold enters the final months of his contract, with Real Madrid reportedly engaging in discussions about the England international's future. 

The potential acquisition of Frimpong aligns with Liverpool's strategy to maintain a dynamic attacking presence from the right-back position. However, with Frimpong's contract running until 2028, Leverkusen are likely to demand a substantial fee for their prized asset.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot may view Frimpong as an ideal fit for his energetic playing style, which has seen the Reds excel in both domestic and European competitions this season.
