Cameroon V Australia - As it happened
The End
Thanks for joining us, we'll be back later with coverage of Chile V Germany. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled for our match report.
Cameroon 1-1 Australia
Zambo Anguissa opened the scoring for Cameroon just before half time before Mark Milligan equalised for Australia from the penalty spot on the hour mark.
Full time
No more chances as the whistle goes.
3 minutes added on at the end of the game
Time for one more chance?
Another good ball from Gersbach
He swings it in from the left and Irvine looks to pounce but a Cameroonian defender puts a brave head in to clear. The corner is cleared with ease.
Another booking
Game management is in full flow as Mabouka takes one for the team on the half way line
Chance Cameroon
Another rapid break sees the ball played into Aboubakar about 12 yards out but his shot is blocked away for a corner that comes to nothing. That's 7 shots now for Aboubakar, two more than Australia have mustered.
Another booking
Siani is carded this time as he scythes down Troisi as he looks to spin away
Chance Cameroon
A one-two down the right opens up some space, the ball comes in and Aboubakar gets across his man once again, it's at an awkward height though and he can only guide it wide
Cameroon press
Zambo Anguissa gets to byline and wins a corner, which comes to nothing
Yellow card for Wright
He goes into a tackle with Bassogog around the half way line and whilst he does get a touch on the ball it is rash and high and he rightly goes into the book
Australia make their final change
Jackson Irvine comes on for Tom Rogic
Chance Cameroon
A good ball in from the right from Siani is met by theAboubakar who gets up above Degenbeck and makes a good connection with his head but can't keep it down.
Cameroon make their first change
Banjamin Moukandjo makes way for Karl Toko Ekambi. Vincent Aboubakar will captain the side for the rest of the game
Into the last 15 minutes here
Will we see a winner?
Change number 2 for Australia
Veteran Tim Cahill comes on for Tomi Juric, who is still probably ruing that chance just after half-time
Not in there!
Ondoa comes out to see to the danger but only ends up adding to it. He beats one man near the corner flag but his clearance is then less than convincing. Australia can't manage to make him pay though.
Australia make a change
Troisi does join the fray, replacing Robbie Kruse
Great chance Cameroon
You've got to take these. They counter attack at lightening pace and the ball is delivered into Aboubakar from the right, but he doesn't make good contact and the ball balloons over the bar. Aboubakar has to do better there for me, he is under pressure from Degenbek but matches are won and lost on chances like those.
Australia are readying a substitute
James Troisi is receiving some instructions on the touchline
Autralia press now
Leckie gets a ball in from the right and Rogic gets across his man at the near post, rather than shoot though he tries to flick it into the path of a team-mate and the danger is cleared
GOAL AUSTRALIA 1-1
Captain Mark Milligan steps up and fires the ball into the bottom left corner, Ondoa guessed right but it was a good penalty from the Socceroos skipper
PENALTY AUSTRALIA
We're going upstairs but Gersbach was brought down by Mabouka and it looks like a stone waller
Great chance for Cameroon
They get in behind down the right, when the ball is pulled back Aboubakar is in acres of space but he can only guide the ball wide of the far post. Zambo Anguissa tries to get a touch on it but it goes through his legs
Chance Australia
Straight after the break they should be level. Leckie does well to evade the challenge of Teikeu down the right and pulls the ball back to the penalty spot, Juric is there but he blazed over. Must do better.
The players reemerge for the second half
Looks like both sides are unchanged. Cameroon will get us back underway.

Half-time 1-0 Cameroon
Cameroon lead through that goal from Zambo Anguissa. They've grown into the game and have arguably been the more threatening of the 2 sides.
GOAL CAMEROON
Zambo Anguissa opens the socring right on the stroke of half-time. Australia get their offside trap all wrong and a simple ball over the top from Mabouka finds Zambo Anguissa, he get there ahead of Degenbak and Ryan and lifts the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper to give Cameroon the lead. What a time to score.
1 minute of time added on
Almost half-time here
Cameroon counter
Bassogog gets the ball and looks to race past Degenbak, he has the beating of him but the Aussie runs across him, Bassogog stays on his feet and looks for support but the ball is blocked away for a corner. Bassogog wants a foul but the referee says nothing doing. The corner comes to nothing.
A succession of corners for Cameroon
The trouble looks to have subsided but a poor punch from Ryan gives Cameroon another chance to put a ball in. Australia eventually clear and one hoof forward almost puts Rogic in behind, he does well to maintain posession and is given a free kick for his troubles. It comes to nothing.
Chance Cameroon
Moukandjo bursts through a couple of half-hearted challenges before playing a one-two with Aboubakar, he fires onoe goalwards firsttime but Ryan makes the save. Immediately afterwards Aboubakar looks like he's in behind but a great last-ditch challenge from Sainsbury prevent him from getting a shot away.
Australia just shading possession
56%/44% in their favour, there's only one stat that matters though.
Ambitious effort from Fai
Cameroon pass the ball from side to side for a bit before Fai gets bored and attempts a tame effort from 35+ yards which ryan easily gathers
Chance for Australia
Gersbach's delivery has looked okay so far, another decent ball in from the left finds Leckie but he fires over
A lack of quality in the final third for both teams
Cameroon get into a couple of decent positions but the final pass is overhit then Bassogog's cross is poor. Australia want a free kick at the other end for a foul on Rogic but the referee say nothing doing
Cameroon press
Mabouka gets in on the overlap, his ball to the back-post is perfect but there are no Cameroonian players there to finish it off. Leckie turns it behind for a corner. The corners comes to nothing but the ball comes back in from Moukandjo and only an acrobatic bit of play from Sainsbury stops it from landing on Aboubakar's head.
Poor from Rogic
The Celtic man takes the free kick off Mooy, but then hits the ball well over the bar. A waste.
Good ball in from Gersbach
The full back gets to the byline and looks for Juric but he can't quite get there. Juric is then fouled by Ngadjui right on the edge of the box, great position this for Australia.
Both sides looking wobbly at the back
The Aussies give away another neddless free kick just outside the box. This time Cameroon look to cross it in but the ball evades everyone
Wasted
The wall does its job to deny Aboubakar and Siani fires the follow-up well over
Free kick in a good position for Cameroon
Sainsbury fouls Aboubakar and it's a free kick about 25 yards out, just left of centre
Australia go forward
Aaron Mooy's free kick is cleared so he tries again but one again the Cameroonians stand firm. Just afterwards, Tom Rogic tries to find a way through with some quick feet and a shake of the hips but he is also denied.
Good defending from Zambo Anguissa
Australia string a few passes together and Kruse looks to get the the byline but the Marseille midfielder is there to see to the danger
Chance Cameroon
The ball is put back into the mixer and although an Australian wins the first challenge, it drops to Aboubakar and he fires a volley into the side netting, close.
Free kick Cameroon
Moukandjo is brought down by Leckie and Cameroon have a free-kick in a good position. The ball in isn't the best though and it is cleared.
Cameroon's turn to attack
Bassogog drives at Gersbach down the right, beating him once, twice but he tries to find the near post from an accute angle and fires into the side netting with his left foot
First shot on goal
Robbie Kruse controls a diagonal ball and cuts away from Teikeu and Fai onto his left foot but his effort from the edge of the box is tame and Ondoa gathers
Australia looking to play
No sign of a change in tactics from the Socceroos as they knock the ball around, the'll probably have more success doing so this afternoon than they did against Germany
Kick off
Wee're off! Australia get us underway here in St Petersburg
The teams make their way onto the pitch
National anthem time here in Saint Petersburg, Cameroon first, followed by Australia
Thoughts ahead of the game:
I'm personally not surprised to see Robbie Kruse start for Australia this time around, he looked bright after coming on at half-time against Germany last time out. Simply put, both of these sides must win today if they want to give themselves any realistic chance of getting through to the semi-finals. Though I would hazard a guess that most eyes are on the other game in this group that kicks-off later this evening, Germany V Chile.
