“They were saying in January that we would be fighting for third place”

Some players were paraded through the mixed zone after a first La Liga celebration in the dressing room. One of them was Raphinha, who did not hesitate to remember those who doubted Barcelona: “In January there were many people who said that we would fight for third place in La Liga and that we would not get far in the Copa del Rey, but the important thing is that we were always confident in what we were capable of doing”. 

The Brazilian, one of the key players of the season, wanted to value all the work, which crowns them domestically because, as he remarked, they conquered “everything that can be won in Spain”.

However, he showed that he still has some revenge for what happened in the Champions League. “We still have to win one more title that we didn't win, we all dream about it.... Not only us, but also the fans. We were very close this season and we can achieve it next season,” he stressed. 

As for the clash against Espanyol, he admitted that Barca were not “at their level” in the first half. “But we came back very well after the break. We controlled the game more and we have a kid who, from time to time, gets something out of the golden feet he has,” he said, referring to Lamine Yamal, who scored a great goal to put Barca ahead.
