“Rodrygo was recovered, but he wasn't at 100%; no problems with him”

There were long faces at Real Madrid after another defeat in the 'Clasico' against Barcelona. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in the press room and gave his first impressions on the matter.
“In a match of this level you have to defend well and attack well. We attacked well, but in those 30 minutes we made defensive mistakes and it cost us the game,” he began.
Ancelotti settled the issues about Rodrygo's absence: “Rodrygo was recovered, but he wasn't feeling well and wasn't at his best. There is no problem with him. I am delighted with him. He has not recovered well from a fever”.
Ancelotti praised Mbappe's work and performance: “Mbappe has done well. The chances we've had have been very clear. We attacked well at the back. We scored three and we could have scored more. Offensively, the team had a clear idea. We could have defended better. We should have done better in the first 30 minutes. We mustn't forget that there were five defenders missing today.”
“It's the last 'Clasico' of the season. We have to finish the campaign well and try to win the three remaining matches,” he continued.
On the problems in defence: “We had to defend better. Today's game is quite evident. We defended poorly. Not because we played with a low block. We gave away some chances and they punished us”.
Finally, Ancelotti highlighted his team's work: “We had the chance to make it 4-4 twice. It was an even match, competitive and fought until the last second. We scored and it was offside. I saw it that way. Against a great team, two great teams, nothing to reproach my team for in terms of attitude and commitment. It didn't go well, but we competed”.
