Lautaro Martinez set to miss Milan derby

Lautaro Martinez, Inter's captain and first-choice striker, will not feature in Wednesday's semi-final first leg against Milan as he continues his recovery from the left hamstring injury sustained two weeks ago.
"The plan is to have Lautaro available for Saturday's match against Parma, but we'll assess it day by day. He's working hard, he always wants to be on the pitch, but unfortunately, he picked up this injury against Atalanta," Inzaghi explained in Tuesday's press conference.
The forward suffered the setback on 16 March during Inter's 2-0 win over Atalanta, where he scored the decisive goal. The injury forced him to miss Argentina's World Cup qualifiers. The club's priority is to have him fully fit for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich on 8 April, following a potential return to action against Parma in Serie A on 5 April.
Inter, competing on three fronts, have yet to beat Milan this season despite their dominance. They lost one match in Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana final, drawing the other league fixture.
However, last season, they clinched the Serie A title in a historic derby triumph over their city rivals. "The second star derby will always stay in our hearts—it was an immense and unforgettable joy. But past results don't count, and against Milan, we've had both strong and weaker performances," the coach warned.
Despite prioritising Serie A and the Champions League, Inzaghi is not willing to forgo a trophy he holds dear, having won the Coppa Italia three times—twice with Lazio and once with Inter.
"Our goal was to reach April, still competing in all tournaments. We know the toughest period is now, but we take great pride in being involved on all fronts. It will demand a lot of physical and mental energy, but this is exactly where we wanted to be. Every match is crucial," he concluded
