La Liga side Las Palmas against precautionary measure granted to Barca

The dance of reactions to the CSD's precautionary measure granted to Barca for the registrations of Olmo and Pau Víctor has begun. The first La Liga side to react was Las Palmas, who issued a statement on Thursday afternoon to express their disagreement with the decision of the Superior Sports Council (CSD).

“The resolution issued this Wednesday by the Superior Sports Council (CSD) has surprised us unfavorably, and from UD Las Palmas we express our absolute disagreement. We consider that this decision poses a serious danger to the integrity of the competition and sets a worrying precedent that could destabilize the foundations of professional football in our country,” said the islanders.

Likewise, Las Palmas has complained about the “unusual celerity without giving place to the hearing or the participation of La Liga and RFEF”. “This procedure has ignored previous decisions of both the CSD itself and the courts of justice, which generates a sense of arbitrariness incompatible with the principles of transparency and fairness that should govern any process of this type,” it adds.

“In addition, the declaration of lack of competence of the Monitoring Commission in this case seems to evidence a worrying lack of knowledge about the operation of the system of prior visas and definitive licenses, which has been previously agreed by the institutions involved. There is no mention at any time of the application of the articles of the RFEF regulations that prevented the granting of licenses, a key point in this matter,” reads the statement.
