Though Redknapp stressed that the club have yet to make the 37-year-old an offer he said that he didn't want to "be a liar" and deny interest in the player, saying that the Irish striker is the sort of person "you would love to have around your club".
The pair worked together at Tottenham Hostpur and 'Sky Sports News' claims that Keane is aware of the comments made by his former boss and believes that he still has plenty to offer despite his advancing years.

If remains to be seen how Birmingham fans would view Keane's loan spell at rivals Aston Villa should he sign for the club. Keane played six games for Villa in 2012, scoring three goals.
