Kane to miss Leipzig clash after 'insane' yellow card ruling

Harry Kane will be forced to miss Bayern Munich’s potential Bundesliga title decider against RB Leipzig due to suspension after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season in the 3-0 victory over Mainz.
The England captain was booked for time-wasting, a decision he labelled “insane” and “never a yellow card” in his post-match comments. Kane expressed frustration with the referee, remarking, “Unfortunately, sometimes people come to the Allianz Arena and try to make a name for themselves”.
He also criticised the league’s disciplinary rules, claiming, “Five yellow cards in 34 games means a suspension. That’s crazy”. Kane highlighted the contrast with the Premier League, where yellow card accumulations are reset partway through the season.
Despite his disappointment, Kane insisted he will remain positive: “It’s kind of my story that I’ll miss the Leipzig game. But no worries, I’ll celebrate more than anyone else”.
Bayern Munich are on the verge of securing their 33rd Bundesliga title, and Kane’s 24 league goals have been pivotal to their campaign. Kane is set to return for the penultimate match against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 10 May.
