Kane lashed home from 20 yards to double England's lead

The Tottenham man was given a significant helping hand though as he looked to play himself into form before the big kick-off in Russia.

Nigeria surrendered possession in their own half, with Kane seizing on the loose ball and exchanging passes with Raheem Sterling.

Sterling returned the ball to Kane and he didn't need a second invitation to take aim from 20 yards, drilling a low effort beyond Francis Uzoho in the visiting goal and into the back of the net.

In truth, the Deportivo La Coruña stopper should have done better, but England won't be complaining as they look to build up their confidence ahead of the World Cup.
