Kaiserslautern declare bankruptcy

The economy is being seriously affected by the COVID-19 health crisis. There are clubs which are having a really bad time.

That is the case with Kaiserslautern, a historic club in Germany that are still the only newly promoted team to have won the Bundesliga (they have won 4 in total). Now they play in the third tier and have financial problems.

The club released a statement announcing that they are bankrupt and are going into receivership.

"The goal of the process is a rapid return to economic sustainability", the German club's CEO, Sören Oliver Voigt, said.
