Juan Ignacio Martinez, the favourite to coach Elche

Elche were defeated once again in La Liga and go into the break as bottom side. The team coached by Sergio Mantecon, who was making his debut in the Elche bench as caretaker, appreciated Girona's victory in a game that had been headed in their favour.

According to 'Mundo Deportivo', Elche are targeting Juan Ignacio Martinez, who was former Zaragoza and Levante coach.

The same media outlet explained that after the refusal of Jose Bordalas, the first option, and the signing of Paco Lopez by Granada,  Juan Ignacio Martinez is the favourite to sit on the bench at the Martinez Valero.

His last professional experience was with Zaragoza, whom he took over two seasons ago with 13 points from 18 matches and he managed to keep them in the second tier. Now he is ready to take on Elche's salvation challenge.
