José Antonio Reyes dies in a car accident

On a day where we were supposed to be celebrating the top level of European football with the Champions League final in Madrid tonight. However, instead today will be a day of great sadness for all in football. with the passing of a legendary player for several clubs all over the globe. Jose Antonio Reyes has passed away at the age of just 35 years.
Reyes sadly died in a fatal car accident in Seville this morning, with Sevilla Football Club saying on their Twitter account: "We couldn't offer worse news. Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a car accident. Rest in peace."

Minutes later, Extremadura, his current club, posted a similar tweet, saying: "Extremadura are having to report with a broken heart on the death of Jose Antonio Reyes in a car accident. We ask everyone to pray for him. RIP"

Reyes began his career at his local club Seville where he played 86 times, scoring 21 goals in that time. He then moved to Arsenal in 2004 where he was a part of the infamous Invincibles side and won the FA Cup in 2005. He then went back to spain with a loan spell at Real Madrid, with Reyes scoring 6 goals in 30 appearances for Los Blancos.
He then moved across the city where he spent 4 years at Atletico Madrid from 2007-2011, with Reyes playing 103 times for Atleti. He had a brief spell at Benfica on loan before returning to his boyhood club, where he went on to play a further 109 times. He featured briefly for Espanyol before playing for Cordoba, Chinese side Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard and Extremadura, where he was still playing before tragically passing.
Reyes also represented his country on 21 occasions whilst also playing for Spain Under 16s, Under 19s, Under 21s and his region Andalusia.
