Joan Gamper Trophy to be held at Johan Cruyff Stadium

FC Barcelona will hold a definitive meeting with Barcelona City Council on Friday to find out if the Spotify Camp Nou has their approval to host the Joan Gamper Trophy. But according to 'Mundo Deportivo', the 'Cules' will meet with the refusal of the consistory.
Despite the fact that Laporta has once again announced with great fanfare the opening of the stadium and the efforts made in the last few days, the works have not arrived on time. As a result, the City Council will inform Barça that it is refusing to grant them the licence of first occupation, the necessary requirement to be able to open and host at least 30,000 spectators.
There were already strong doubts at the club, but in the absence of official confirmation, the Camp Nou refurbishment project will be dealt another blow. Knowing this, Barca will be forced to host the Joan Gamper Trophy against Como in an alternative venue: the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
For the Catalan side it is a problem, as it goes from the at least 30,000 fans expected at home to the maximum capacity of 6,000 offered by the stadium where the reserve and women's team play. Insufficient for a match that should be the official presentation of the reigning league champions to their fans. But there is no alternative.
The clash against Cesc Fabregas' Como will take place on Sunday 10th August, a weekend when they cannot return to the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium because on Saturday 9th a concert by the k-pop group Blackpink is scheduled. Barca will have to start thinking about what to do next, because UEFA already doubts that they will make it in time for the Champions League League Phase.
