Javi Martínez to miss rest of 2020

Spanish defender Javi Martínez will be out for Bayern Munich until probably January due to a muscle injury he suffered against RB Leipzig on Saturday.

Bayern confirmed the injury, without specifying the time he would be out for, through a statement on their website.

Javi Martínez had to be replaced in the 25th minute and after the match manager Hansi Flick said that he feared that it was a muscle tear.

The player has played 8 matches in 10 Bundesliga matchdays so far this season. He has also played in 5 Champions League games and one German Cup one.
