Aston Villa announced on Monday that Jan Bednarek will return to play for Southampton after being on loan at Emery's side. Saints have asked for the defender back and he will soon be playing for them again.

Jan Bednarek will return to St Mary's having joined Aston Villa on loan in the summer, going on to make four competitive matches in claret and blue.

Southampton have asked for the defender back and he will soon be playing for Saints again.

"Aston Villa can confirm the club have agreed to Southampton's request to recall Jan Bednarek this month.

"We would like to thank Jan for his service and wish him all the best in his future career," Emery's side wrote on Twitter.
