James admits he may be forced to leave Bayern
The Colombian joined the Bavarian side on a two-year loan back in the summer of 2017, with Bayern thought to hold an option to complete a permanent deal for £31m at any point during that loan.
Brought in by Carlo Ancelotti, James impressed last season as he scored seven goals and laid on 11 assists in just 23 games in the league to power the German side to yet another Bundesliga title.
However, he has started just six of the club's 13 Bundesliga games so far this season after slipping down the pecking order following the arrival of Nico Kovac in the summer.
Speaking to 'ESPN', the 27-year-old acknowledged that he may be left with no option but to pursue a move elsewhere should he not manage to force his way back into Kovaci's thinking in the coming weeks and months.
"It's a different situation to last year because I'm playing less," he admitted.
"If I need to leave because of a lack of minutes I will but I would like to stay because I feel love from all the fans and the Bayern family."
The classy playmaker has missed Bayern's last three games with a knee injury, but he says he expects to be back available for selection within two weeks.
"I feel good right now, I want to be fully recovered in one or two weeks. We are working hard to get better results," he concluded.
