"It was a blessing to leave Madrid and join Atletico"

Pablo Barrios will never forget 29th October 2022, the day he made his official debut for Atletico Madrid. The home-grown player was in the spotlight in the clash against Cadiz at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

The midfielder has already been able to score for the 'Colchonero' team and on Saturday, just a few days before the clash against Girona in Montilivi, 'Marca' published an interview with one of the Atletico surprise packages this season.

"I have had unconditional support from my father since I started playing. That his son plays... it makes him excited. Things have worked out well and he's very proud," began Pablo Barrios, who lost his mother.

On the other hand, the Real Madrid academy player explained how he moved to the 'Colchoneros': "When I left Madrid I quickly received the call from Atletico. I didn't think twice, I wanted to be here in an incredible project and wearing the red and white shirt. It was a blessing to leave Madrid and join Atletico".
