"It's a lie": Hugo Duro slams Netflix subtitles in Vinicius doc

"Anyone who has ever been to Mestalla, anyone who watches the video, can clearly hear 'tonto'," Duro stated in reference to the scene in 'Baila, Vini', Netflix's new documentary, which has caused a stir over its portrayal of the events.
"I haven't seen it myself, but I don't understand why they would subtitle something that wasn't said. Three idiots were punished as they should have been, but that doesn't mean the rest of the fans deserve to be labelled as racist.
"Especially when it's not true — there are plenty of videos that prove otherwise," he said during a signing session with club sponsor TM Grupo Inmobiliario.
Sources from within the club told Spanish news agency EFE that Valencia CF's legal department is reviewing the documentary's content and considering possible action against Netflix, should it deem that the club, its supporters, or the Mestalla stadium have been misrepresented.
The incident in question occurred during a match played at Mestalla in May 2023, when Vinicius Jr reported being the target of racist abuse from a section of the home crowd. Three fans were later identified and sanctioned in connection with the episode.
