Isco returns to training with rest of the group

Betis midfielder Isco Alarcon continues to make progress in his return to the pitch and, on Monday, he began partial training with the group after resuming ball training a week ago in individual and specific sessions. Isco has thus taken another step in his recovery from the long fibula injury that he sustained in Las Palmas on 16th May and from which, after a first surgery, he underwent another one on 4th September due to a lack of consolidation in the callus in the affected area.

The player from Arroyo de la Miel has been the protagonist in Betis' return to training after last week's 4-2 defeat against Valencia at Mestalla and to start preparing for next Thursday's Conference League clash against Mlada Boleslav and Sunday's La Liga match against Real Sociedad in San Sebastian.

Isco Alarcon was greeted by his teammates in the initial minutes, open to the media, with a welcoming reception, and then partially trained with the group coached by the Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, who looks forward to the Malagueno's return to full fitness as a key member of his team until his injury.

With both player and coach aware that urgency is not a good advisor, Isco is following a meticulous plan to avoid setbacks in his comeback, for which the last game before the Christmas break is on 22nd December against Rayo at the Villamarin and the first after that, on 11th January against Valladolid at the Jose Zorrilla.

Pellegrini has already announced, ahead of the game at the Mestalla, that he will not be able to count on the long list of players that fill the Betis infirmary this week after depopulating his midfield with the injuries to Isco and William Carvalho, Marc Roca, Johnny Cardoso and Pablo Fornals, as well as right-back Hector Bellerin and youth centre-back Nobel Mendy.
