Ireland's Euros hopes dashed in penalty shootout drama

The game had ended in a 1-1 draw that prompted a penalty shootout. Norwich City forward Adam Idah's attempt was saved by Koorevaar leaving the match outcome hanging on the final penalty for the Dutch side.
The Netherlands lined up to take their fifth and final penalty, which Corcoran saved but referee Zbynek Proske called for the penalty to be retaken after he saw the Republic keeper step forward from his line.
Proske issued Corcoran with his second booking of the game, and defender Oisin McEntree was forced to take his position in goal as the Dutch squad took the victory with a 5-4 penalty shootout.
The referee's decision earnt the ire of Martin O'Neill who was watching in the stands. Immediately after the match, the Republic's senior manager made his way to the pitch in order to talk to the official.
