Iniesta to announce his departure on Friday

It seems the Spanish midfielder is close to finalising his exit from 'Los Cules'. After 16-trophy laden seasons in Barcelona, Iniesta will announce his departure on Friday, amid persistent speculation. 

He will reportedly do so after the first team's training session, through a press conference. One in which he will confirm his exit to China, most likely with Chongqing Dangdai Lifan.

If true, Iniesta will also receive a tribute during Barca's final La Liga match of the season - against Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on May 20, hopefully with the league crown in his hands.

It would be the perfect send-off for a player who has given his career to the Catalan club and one that, despite the numerous trophies, will see him leave without winning the Ballon d'Or. Although compatriot Sergio Ramos believes he should have...

Either way, Iniesta and Barcelona can look back at the 16 season with pride and delight. It's going to be difficult to find another player like him soon.
