"If they want to sign Joan Garcia, they must pay his clause"

Espanyol's CEO Mao Ye stated Sunday at the 33rd edition of the Aplec de Penas (Supporters Clubs Meeting) held in La Roca del Vallès that the club has “nothing to negotiate” in the case of goalkeeper Joan Garcia, whose future seems close to Barcelona.
The manager of the Catalan club has insisted that the price of the player is already fixed by contract: "There is a clause that is deposited". This figure is 25 million euros, an amount that must be "updated to the CPI". Mao Ye has repeated that they will not negotiate these numbers.
In any case, the CEO explained in the traditional meeting with the supporters clubs that for the moment there has been "no contact" with Espanyol from anyone, neither from another entity nor from the player himself. Joan Garcia has a valid contract until June 30th, 2028.
On the other hand, Mao Ye has asked for "respect" to the player and has indicated that any professional "has the right to choose his path". The manager commented that in the last week there has been a lot of "noise", although "nothing" tangible has happened in the offices.
