"If I fall, I get up" - Nunez breaks silence after Villa miss

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez said he was not the best three weeks ago “nor the worst now,” after his empty-goal miss against Aston Villa that cost his team two points.

The Uruguayan came off the bench in Wednesday's Premier League game against Aston Villa and missed an empty goal chance that, according to statistics, had an 89% chance of going in.

“Neither was I the best three weeks ago nor am I the worst now. If I fall down, I get up. You will never see me give up. I'm going to leave everything until the last day that I'm here at Liverpool,” said the striker through his social networks.

To date, Darwin Nunez has played 35 games this season with the Reds and has scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists. This being his third campaign at Anfield, it is the poorest in terms of goal production, but he still has 12 league games ahead, plus the Champions League matches left and the League Cup final to improve his figures. In the 2022-2023, he scored 15 goals between all competitions, while the year he joined the English side he netted 18 goals.
