"I will resolve my contract talks and I will STAY here for a long time"

Over the past few days rumours have surfaced that Saudi Arabia would try to take Vinicus from Real Madrid by offering him one of the best contracts in the history of the sport.

However, Vinicius Jr, who was named MVP in Real Madrid's comeback in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs, assured after the match at the Etihad that he will soon resolve his negotiations with Real Madrid to sign a new contract. 

"I will resolve my contract negotiations in the next few days and I will STAY here for a long time," said the Brazilian after the 'Merengues' win over the Sky Blues. 

In addition, the Brazilian said he felt “motivated” in the match against the Mancunian team because of the pre-match tifo displayed by the Ciyzens fans in reference to Rodri's Ballon d'Or victory over the former Flamengo player.
