"I'm really looking forward to it, a Madrid derby is always special"

Atletico Madrid Midfielder Pablo Barrios has settled quickly at Atletico despite his young age. The academy player progressed from the youth team to the first one with hardly any adaptation period and has earned a reputation as one of the most loved by the fans.

Before the match against Real Madrid, the player answered questions from the fans and expressed his eagerness to play against the eternal rivals. "I'm really looking forward to the derby. We already know how special this match is. We're on a good run and I hope it continues", he commented.

The midfielder is delighted with the role he has at Atletico: "I'm proud to be one of the home-grown players that Simeone uses the most. All that's left is to keep working to get playing time".

Barrios believes that he owes part of that prominence to Fernando Torres. "I had him as a coach when I was at youth level and he helped me a lot to make the leap to the professional level," he said.

As for his dreams, he said he would like to play at Signal Iduna Park and Anfield one day. On a personal level, he sent a message that will appeal to many Atletico fans: "I hope to win several titles and hopefully be here for many years to come.
