"I'm proud to be Carlo Ancelotti's son, but this is where my story begins"

Botafogo, reigning Brazilian and Copa Libertadores champions, unveiled Davide Ancelotti as their new coach on Monday, who said that "now begins" his "history" at the helm of a club, having been part of his father's coaching staff for much of his career.
"I am very happy to be Carlo's son, I am very proud. But now my story begins. I know I have to show results and work hard. And that's what I'm going to do. I am here because of my work," said in perfect Portuguese Davide, who has accompanied his father on the coaching staff of clubs such as Napoli, Everton, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
The son of current Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti, the coach takes over as coach of the Brazilian side bench until December 2026, with a contract that allows him to partially maintain his position as assistant coach of the 'Selecao', where he took over a month ago.
Asked how he will divide his work, Davide, 35, stressed that his "commitment" as well as his "dedication and full commitment" will be directed at Botafogo, and that he is not thinking "about anything else".
"I am 100% with Botafogo," he said, and stressed that the Brazilian team "is the best place" to start his career at the helm of a team. Although he clarified that, despite being a "young" coach, he has been working in football for "many years".
"Being young has its positive aspects. I can make mistakes, I will make mistakes, I have to make mistakes to grow, but we are in an environment where we are all growing. As a coach I want to grow alongside Botafogo," he replied.
Botafogo's new coach, announced last week following the resignation of Renato Paiva, made his debut last Saturday with a win over Vasco da Gama in the 13th round of the Brazilian league. However, due to a delay in his registration papers, he attended the match as an assistant, not as coach.
After four wins in their last five games, Botafogo are sixth in the table with 21 points. In a month's time, the Rio de Janeiro side will host Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito in the last 16 of the Copa Libertadores.
