"I'm happy to score again; it's good to be decisive again"

Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe said after the win over Germany in the Nations League third-place match that he was "happy to score again, it's two games in a row, but above all for winning, that's the most important thing."
Mbappe cut short his scoreless streak for France at these finals with goals in the loss to Spain (4-5) and in Sunday's win over Germany (0-2), in which he also provided assists.
"I've always said I wanted to be important in the French national team and there's nothing above that. It's good to be decisive again, which should be the norm for a player like me, but it's not a goal in itself; the goal is to win. It's the collective performance that interests me," insisted the France captain.
The Madrid forward said that they learned "a lot" in these two matches, "both the positive and the negative", in which they did "a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong", and was satisfied to have reacted after the defeat against Spain.
"If I had to summarise the two games, we rediscovered this ability to create chances, to put the opponent in difficulty, and therefore this ability to press high, to bother the opponent. We scored six goals in two games, an average of three goals per game, not bad. Of course, there were things that didn't work so well," he said.
"We still have shortcomings in the game, twice in the 10 minutes against Spain or in the first 30 minutes against Germany, which were not good. We have to improve that, also in transitions, where, in the opposite pitch, when we have possession, sometimes we put ourselves in danger. But it's good to see this against Germany and Spain, teams we will probably face in the World Cup; these are good lessons," he argued.
