"I don't like playing as No. 9, but at Madrid I have to"

Rodrygo Goes is not used to being Real Madrid's main striker, nor does he want to be. The 22-year-old made his preferences clear at a Brazilian national team press conference.
"It's always important to be versatile and play in different positions. I've always made it clear that I like to play on the flanks. I just don't like to play as a No. 9, although at my club I have to," he told reporters.
"With the Brazilian national team I can move all over the pitch. It has helped me to improve my versatility. It's very important to know how to play in different positions because that way you're not replaced," he added.
The Brazilian forward had a superb season with Madrid last campaign, scoring 19 goals and assisting ten times. This term he is on the same path as he has netted one goal and provided one assist in 11 competitive matches.
