Hwang Ui-Jo could face up to four years in prison. Seoul prosecutors demanded a sentence for the Alanyaspor player, who is accused of recording four sexual encounters with two women without consent in 2022.
During the hearing, the player pleaded guilty to the charges. "I sincerely apologise to all those who felt hurt by my wrongdoings. I am also sorry for disappointing the people who have adored and applauded me with my inappropriate behaviour," he said.
According to the media outlets Yonhap and RMC Sport, Hwang Ui-Jo filed a complaint against his older brother's wife for blackmail and publishing intimate photos.
During the investigation into the events, the authorities found clues that led to the acts for which he could spend four years in prison. The sentence is due to be handed down on 18 December.
