Hughton wants squad players to prove themselves

The Seagulls return to the Vitality Stadium four days after their 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League last Friday and Hughton will be hoping the changes he makes to his squad can help them to earn a positive result this time round.

"We'll be no different to everybody else; you use your squad and it allows you to give others games," Hughton said. "In some cases, it has to be that way.

"There are a few areas where we have got to be mindful, but it's also a good opportunity for those that have really trained well that have been pushing very hard to give them an opportunity.

"It's a good stadium to play at, under the floodlights, a wonderful pitch and I'd be very surprised if there was anybody who didn't want to be involved in that game.

"For those that weren't (involved on Friday) this is an opportunity for them and we also have to look at any opportunity as a good one."

Hughton does anticipate that Eddie Howe will rotate his side, but he does not expect the Cherries to alter their approach to the game, after they secured their first Premier League win of the season on Friday.

"We probably don't expect any major changes in the way that they play," Hughton added.

"They are a team that very much play on the front foot, who will try and win the game, they play the game at a high tempo so I think we know what to expect and it's just working around that."
