Herrera looks set to return at the Villamarin

Herrera, who had started five games in a row but lost his place in the 11 in the last two games, will be the main man for Atletico Madrid based on what was seen in Wednesday's triaing session. He had to play in Koke's place, who suffered a muscle injury against Osasuna. 

Without Koke, Vitolo, Diego Costa, the three men injured for Atletico Madrid, the other news is that Renan Lodi could return at left back. 

The defence would be made up of Kieran Trippier, Jose Maria Gimenez, Felipe Monteiro and Lodi; Herrera, Saul Niguez, Thomas Partey and Thomas Lemar in midfield; and in attack, Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata. 

Simeone tried this formation in training. Stefan Savic trained normally after being out for 12 games in a session with a good number of Atletico academy players.
